Textile exports (excluding apparel) have reached approximately $6,1 billion in 2006 (+12,2%), mainly with knitted fabrics, cotton woven fabrics, woven fabrics or synthetic filament yarns, bed-sheets and bags-sacks for packaging. As regards technical textile imports, nonwoven and coated fabrics account for the biggest part of the $625 million turnover (main suppliers: Germany, Italy, China, the United Kingdom and France). As for exports of technical textile, they have more than doubled in 6 years, reaching $847 million in 2006, $417 million of which coming from exports to Germany, 'with flexible, intermediate bulk containers of man-made textile materials and tire cord fabric leading the exports'.
