Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TİM) and Marmara University have designed the first Turkish export technopark, gathering on a same place training centres, laboratories and industries, so as to create high added value products, for instance smart textiles and innovative fabrics.
7000 square meters of textile R&D should indeed be implemented on the technopark by the end of 2008, 'the world's most developed infrastructure'. This project lead by the ITKIB and Marmara University Textile Department should cost about € 15-16 million, expected to be partly financed by European funds. The European Union had indeed participated in the design of the project which lasted 4 years. Source: Turkish Daily Feb. 28th 2008 |
