Supported by the CITEVE, the ATP and Selectiva Moda, the Portuguese association against skin cancer launches a design contest with two categories: "textile and fashion", "urban furniture and architecture". It is about imagining innovative, realistic, attractive and modern solutions based on technical textiles to protect the skin against UV radiation: fashion apparel protecting against sun radiation, covering for places in which people gather in the sun such as a stadium...

After having taken over Foreva and Sapatália brands, Kyaia has decided to renovate their image and to strengthen their financial capabilities. Kyaia is also to invest 1,2 million of euros in a building on the Guimarães indstrial estate to centralize logistics for the 75 shops (permanent showroom, store, administrative services...). Well positioned on the domestic market, Foreva and Sapatália brands have begun to be also sold in Northern Europe, which should contribute to reach 30 million of euros turnover in 2010.

A lot of portuguese textile and apparel professionnals have participated in international trade shows in 2007, according to the ANIVEC/APIV which stresses the quality of the products they have shown. Thus, the ANIVEC/APIV has begun to prepare for next trade shows and has opened pre-registration for the Fimi (Fashion fair for kids and young people, Jan. 18th to 20th 2008, Valencia, Spain), the Simm (International fashion trade show in Madrid, Feb. 15th to 17th 2008) and the Cpm (Collection Premiere Moscow), (trade show for men, women and kids), Feb. 2008).
